On Sunday morning, the final of the Lövsta Future Challenge Jumping for young horses was held at Stockholm Stadium. 11 7-year-old Swedish horses who qualified for the final had the opportunity to compete against 14 international 7-year-olds. The Swedish riders stayed well ahead in the tough competition but had to hand over the top three to the international riders. Belgian Gilles Thomas won on the horse Puskas de Kavalerie.

"I'm so happy for my horse, he has not jumped so much in recent weeks, but felt great so we decided to give it our all. It's great to have the opportunity to take the younger horses to arenas like this. I have only ridden my horse since January, but hope very much for him for the future ", says Gilles Thomas.

The Swedish horses had qualified for the final in 2021 through the Champion of the Youngsters and Breeders Trophy. They stayed well ahead in the tough competition but had to hand over the top three to the international riders. Best Swede in fourth place was Elin Sjögren on the horse Curt.

"We understood that if we were to have a chance among all these top riders, there was only one gear that mattered and that was the fastest we have. Kurt jumped fantastically well and really gave everything today, I'm so happy with him. fantastic to be able to compete against these riders here, now we go home with inspiration for the future ", says Elin Sjögren.

Second place went to Germany's Markus Ehning with Comme Sa Mere and third place to Nicolas Philippaerts with the Swedish-born horse K&T Geromino. Of the eight combinations that went to jump off, three were qualified via Lövsta Future Challenge's national qualifier in 2021, in addition to Elin Sjögren / Kurt, also fifth place Daisy Pearson / Chique Choque Lentamel Z and seventh place Shane Carey with Context.
